Fraudulent Flippo’s Bruising Week Part 4 (Fraud Freight Train Edition)

David Flippo’s flailing campaign endured yet another bruising week as his “fraud freight train” kept going full speed ahead, its cargo of controversy growing heavier by the day.

First, Fraudulent Flippo’s week started with retiring Republican Representative Mark Amodei calling him a fraud and saying he would “absolutely not” vote for him.

Then the Wall Street Journal reported on the Flippo campaign claiming to have received a max out donation from someone who died in 2024. As they run out of excuses, this time, they decided to blame “clerical errors.”

Then, the Washington Post revealed that former NV GOP Chair Bob Seale filed a complaint against Flippo for his rap sheet and said he would be voting for Teresa Benitez-Thompson.

Then, Mother Jones reported a continuation of its investigation into Flippo’s fake financial disclosure and uncovered his “batshit” venture that experts call a “huge red flag.”

Finally (for now), Amodei went on CNN to call out Flippo’s stolen valor, being relieved of his command, carpetbagging, and shady financial practices.

As more Northern Nevadans become aware of the extent of Flippo’s fraud, unprecedented coalitions are forming to beat him as he continues to evade accountability and dodge debates.

In case you missed any of the many stories and scandals surrounding Fraudulent Flippo, see coverage from Flippo’s bruising week below:

WSJ: “The campaign of Republican David Flippo, who faces an unexpectedly tough race to fill a red House seat in Nevada, credited a dead woman from a prominent Nevada family for a donation, according to federal disclosures.”

Washington Post: “The Federal Election Commission complaint against David Flippo cites reporting on his personal finances and campaign finance reports, and calls for an investigation.”

CNN: “This has been one comedy of errors after another.”

Politico: “Retiring GOP congressmember will ‘absolutely not’ vote for successor in at-risk seat”

Mother Jones: “Experts say land venture linked to David Flippo is ‘Batshit’ and a ‘Huge Red Flag’”

MS NOW: “So why does Congressman Mark Amodei say he will absolutely not vote for GOP nominee David Flippo? Amodei cited a series of allegations against Flippo as disqualifying.”

KOLO: “David Flippo, the Republican nominee for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District, has declined requests for an interview with KOLO 8 News”

KTVN: “We need to know where he gets his money,” said Susan Fisher, a former lobbyist and is a registered Republican. “Is it personal funds? He claims he’s loaned himself over $1.5 million.”

This is Reno: “The FEC complaint was filed Monday, Oct. 20 by former Nevada Treasurer and former State Republican Party Chair Robert Seale. In it, Seale asks the FEC to investigate the source of Flippo’s reported campaign loans — more than $1.8 million — and whether his campaign accurately identified donors.”

Nevada Current: “So Flippo should take a moment to reflect on and relish this moment. He may not realize it now, but both the Journal and the Post (twice!) writing about him likely marks the zenith of his political “career.”

The Record-Courier: “In my opinion, he ran a disingenuous campaign and bought Trump’s endorsement with Southern Nevada and out-of-state money. Recent questions about his military awards simply confirmed my suspicions of his character. He approved the statement and as Truman said, “the buck stops here.”

Reno Gazette Journal: “With the V device, it’s a whole different matter,” he said. “He blames his grandchildren? My God, who throws their grandkids under the bus? That goes to character. That to me says more than wearing the V device.”
