3 Days, 3 Ways Nevada Republicans are Rubber Stamps For Trump’s Cost-Raising Agenda (Big Beautiful Bill Edition)
As Donald Trump heads from Las Vegas to Laughlin today to gaslight Nevada families, NV Dems is launching a new series to highlight a few of the many ways Nevada Republicans running for Congress will be rubber stamps for Trump’s cost-raising agenda in Washington.
On the third and final day, we’re calling out Republicans for supporting Trump’s expensive and destructive health care agenda that is forcing Nevada families to make impossible choices.
From Marty O’Donnell, whose net worth has increased by millions of dollars under the OBBBA, writing an op-ed praising the Big Beautiful Bill to Carrie Buck celebrating its passage as an “awesome day” to David Flippo saying it “really helped America,” it’s clear Nevada Republicans running for Congress will never stand up for Nevada families and will always put Trump’s cost-raising agenda first.
When Republicans say they support Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” this is what it means for Nevada families:
- Health insurance premiums for Nevada families are rising to an average of $800 per month — a 34% increase as a consequence of the bill – and premiums are set to increase again in 2027.
- 8,000+ fewer Nevadans now have health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act and 45,000 fewer are covered by Medicaid.
- Over 110,000 Nevadans have already lost food assistance as grocery costs continue to rise.
- Four hospitals in Nevada are at risk of closing as Boulder City Hospital and Henderson Hospital have already cut services and staff because of Medicaid cuts. Henderson Hospital also cut their maternity and NICU services.
- A new gambling tax that is devastating Nevada gaming by forcing bettors to pay taxes on their wins AND losses is forcing casinos that employ hundreds of thousands of employees to fire workers.
